Again Success! The 3rd " Food Drive-Drop Off" and Clothing Drive was a great event last week. Student Leaders Lauren Lencovich, a Junior at Notre Dame High School (NDHS) and Nick Foley, a senior at Robbinsville High School who are members of Youth Ministry of the Parish of Saint Gregory of the Great, and Notre Dame Alumni assisted Mr. and Mrs Tom Lencovich, the Chanellor of the Knights of Columbus #7677, John Zubricky, Brian Farell, John Zefutie and Ed Kohler who joined together and conducted the 3rd Food Drive for the Guild's Community Support Food Distribution Program and other food pantries throughout the Diocese. Early this year, the students became aware in daily news reports about the long foodbank lines that are present nationwide early during the Pandemic and offered to assist the Knights of Columbus annual event. Thank you, ALL! #MtCarmelFeedsALL
We are grateful to Bill Coleman, President and Co-Chair of the local End Hunger 3.6 Initiative with RotarianScott Biondi, who have formed a new community-service partnership with the Hightstown Elks Lodge #1955 and members Gamba and Donna Vogt. The Initiative will provide much needed support in the fight against food insecurity in and around the greater Mercer County area. We welcome you as our partners in this challenge! #MtCarmelFeedsAll #MtCarmelGuild #GiveLocal
HUGE SHOUT OUT to future Advocates! John Schwimmer, a senior at Montgomery High School! He planned and held a weekend Food Drive in Belle Meade and delivered the generous donations to the Guild! And our junior Advocates are the students and the Parishioners of Saint Paul's Church. The School recently held a drive-by food drive with ALL in attendance. Msgr. Rosie, Father Carlos, Mrs. Schwimmer and Vice-Principal Shannon Rooney. Special gift bags were beautifully hand-decorated by the children of Joy Lowery's Family and the Smith Family, Nancy and Richard. A family affair! School Mascot, Leo the Lion was there, to share in the fun and delivery!
This past month,, Mary Inkrot, our Executive Director addressed that we are now seeing many new faces and families. All are welcome at the Guild. Please SHARE or Tag on SM our information with your families and friends.
Since Spring 2019, the Guild Community Support Program allies with Catholic Charities at the Offices of Mount Carmel Guild. Through this alliance, we met the Bowers' Family and received generous food and household donations from Marilyn and Bill, Lawrenceville. We are thankful for the Bowers' generosity for our Community Support Program. Without neighbors like the Bowers' donations and drive, we could not serve the community and provide daily assistance to all.
In 2019 we affiliated and formed multiple partnerships with area nonprofits. Isles last spring has created a community garden area for the Guild. Last week, our friends at Isles had an opportunity to stop in with their FIRST harvest of radishes and greens for the Community Support Program! Beautiful bounty harvest! And, the Howell Living History Farm came by with generous bags of Oats, flour, and produce this week. Neighbors helping neighbors...
Please note, in the midst of the Pandemic crisis, we are taking proactive steps to continue our efforts to assist families and the vulneraable, older adults in our community thrive daily through our accredited In-Home Nursing Program and the Community Support Program. Our doors open daily at 9:30 am and close at 11:30 am for food distribution. Closed on weekends. Please SHARE our information with ALL. Someone may benefit from your SHARED information.
