The Guild's Summer Feeding Families (SFF) project helps counter the effects of hunger when school and other local breakfast/lunch programs are unavailable.
It helps lessen food insecurity, promotes healthy eating, and encourages family meals and togetherness. Instead of receiving bags of prepackaged groceries, families select their own items with options that include ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For 2024, the program will operate from July 9-August 13 and targets 150 families. Participants continue to offer positive feedback and are especially grateful for the fruit and vegetable offerings which include strawberries, blueberries, bananas, carrots, green peppers, broccoli and lettuce.
