T
he Guild Food Pantry remains open, offering a generous bag of perishable and shelf stable food from 9:30 to 11:30 Monday through Friday to all who ask. Between 60 and 70 people come to us each morning. Many faces are familiar but increasingly many are not. Social distancing makes it difficult for us to meet and assist everyone as much as we would like. We do know that almost all are from Trenton, many walk to our location and over half have children in their household.
The Guild also assists other local nonprofits who pick up and deliver food for their care receivers who are unable to come to the pantry.
Our home health nurses reach out to our 35 elderly patients twice a week by phone to conduct health assessments and check for food security. They are often busy contacting doctors' offices on their behalf. Medication management now takes place at an arranged time outside a patient's front door, where their nurse picks up their medicines and then returns with filled medi-planners.
During this incredibly difficult time, we are thankful to have you as a member of the community of Mount Carmel Guild of Trenton.
Continuing to provide food and nursing care for the low-income of our community is our mission. Fundraising is needed to continue our operations. We simply ask you to help us with a donation. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
